Conner Lee
The Connor Lee Vineyard was planted in
the early 1980’s and acquired shortly after by
Bill Connor and Rhody Lee. It is managed by Tom Thorsen
and Jerry Bookwalter as Thorsen-Bookwalter associates.
On site management is provided by David Ayalla. The
Vineyard is planted at the upper East end of the Wahluke
Slope on sandy glacial marine sediments left by the
Missoula floods of the Pleistocene. Grapes from the
Connor Lee vineyard form the core of our Merlot. The
vineyard is noted for black currant and cassis notes
in its Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Our Merlot is
presently sourced from the 1991 block, but we are currently
planting into additional Merlot in this vineyard, using
a different clonal selection. The vineyard ownership’s
commitment to quality is evidenced by their ongoing
engagement of Zelma Long as vineyard consultant.
