Wahluke Slope

The Wahluke Slope Vineyard is owned by the Van Loben-Sels family of Spokane, and is managed by Thorsen-Bookwalter Associates. Tom Thorsen is Vineyard Manager. We have three blocks under contract in this vineyard. Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc will begin bearing fruit in 2006. In addition we are eagerly anticipating the first harvest of our Nebbiolo block in 2005. At nearly two acres, this block, planted to two separate clonal selections is one of the largest plantings of this Northern Italian varietal in the State. The long growing season and warm climate of the Wahluke slope should provide ideal growing conditions for this late ripening grape.
